National standard for methyl methacrylate

Methyl methacrylate is a common organic synthetic intermediate commonly used in fields such as polymers, resins, coatings, inks, adhesives, etc. The national standard for methyl methacrylate in China is GB/T 20920-2007, which specifies the technical requirements, inspection methods, packaging, and transportation of methyl methacrylate, including the following aspects:
1. Appearance and color: The appearance is a clear and colorless liquid, without suspended solids or impurities, and the color is colorless or close to colorless.
2. Purity: The purity requirement for methyl methacrylate is greater than 97.0%.
3. Moisture content: The moisture content should be less than 0.05%.
4. Acid value and alkalinity: The acid value should be less than 0.001mol/g, and the alkalinity should be less than 0.001mol/g.
5. Insoluble substances and solubility: Insoluble substances should be less than 0.01%, and there should be no fluorescence under the irradiation of fluorescent lamps, ultraviolet lamps, and fluorescent lamps. The mass fraction of solubility in water should be less than 0.01%.
It should be noted that the technical requirements specified in the standard are measured under standard conditions, and special attention should be paid to special applications. In addition, methyl methacrylate is a flammable and volatile chemical, and strict adherence to safety operating procedures and relevant regulations is required during use and storage.
